Rick Hibell - Personal Statement
As a lifelong resident of Middletown, I’m honored to be a member of this Middletown Township Committee. My wife, Kelli, and our three young children, Jack, Lilah and Valerie, are proud to live in Leonardo. As a father, I am personally committed to ensuring that our town continues to provide our children with opportunities to achieve their full potential.
I had the privilege to lead the Middletown Township Fire Department, the largest all volunteer fire department in the world, as Chief in 2015. As Chief, I was elected to oversee Middletown’s 11 companies, made up of over 500 members. I continue to serve as a Life Member and now as a member of the Township Committee, I serve as the connective link between the two to ensure Middletown remains ranked as one of the safest towns in America.
Holding the line on taxes is one of my top priorities. Our people are what makes Middletown great and we want residents to have a sense of fairness and affordability in their cost of living. For the second year in a row, our team lowered municipal taxes, while upholding the high level of services offered to our residents across the town. I will continue to look for inventive ways to reduce the cost of government and improve the services.
As a seasoned leader in Middletown, I bring a unique and important perspective to the Township Committee. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the town that has given me so much and serving my fellow Middletown residents.
